Author Bio
Andrew Marusak began questioning God as an altar server in a small-town Texas church but Catholic guilt kept him from sharing his views. He took his doubts around the world as an international school teacher where he lived amongst all major religions and travelled to far-flung places with wildly conflicting though often eerily similar views including Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Jews, atheists, secularists, animists, Rastafarians, and Christians of every stripe and color. His wife Michaela and boy-girl twins shared these sometimes scary, often humorous, and always enlightening first-hand accounts. Despite the nature of these stories Andrew maintains belief in God. He prays this book will help others find answers and meaning in their lives outside of organized religion. Things I Love
PLACES …
I have travelled to over 50 countries and made 8 of them my home: the US, Kuwait, Cyprus, Thailand, Israel, Indonesia, Jamaica, and South Korea.
Currently my home is in Songdo, South Korea. The largest denomination in Korea is “no religion.” But there are remnants of spirituality (like this spirit path at the Confucian Jongmyo Shrine). There are also evangelicals handing out candy & pens while recruiting on street corners.
